BSMU hosted the meeting with Liliya Gumerova, the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture

On 14 September BSMU students met with Liliya S. Gumerova, the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Science, Education and Culture.

Valentin N. Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS, opened the meeting:

- Liliya Salavatovna is well acquainted with our student activists, participants of Federal forums and conferences and it is not for the first time when she takes part in such meetings. For our students it is the opportunity to receive direct answers from the representative of the Government of the country, to find motivation and inspiration for new achievements, - Valentin N. Pavlov welcomed participants of the meeting.

Liliya S. Gumerova answered the questions of BSMU student asset at the format of "Dialogue on equal terms". Among them there were volunteers of the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014, the Universiade-2015 in Kazan, the World Cup-2018, medical volunteers, representatives of the Council of students, the trade Union of students, the tutor movement in BSMU, international students. After the meeting she visited the photo exhibition "Pulse operating" and talked to the second-year students.

- Thanks to such meetings and direct communication with students, we learn the most pressing problems of concern to young people, and at the legislative level we are taking ways to solve them, - said Lilia S. Gumerova.

Students received detailed answers from the Senator on grant support for projects, opportunities to participate in Federal projects, media coverage of the volunteer center. The Senator's personal attitude to professional issues of medical activity aroused I nterest among the students - whether doctor's live communication with the patient will be replaced on TV and robotic medicine in the future, what prospects for the development of science and education are expected in the coming years and what specialties will be in great demand in the future. The authors of the best questions received gifts from the University management.

Ilshat Bikkulov, Director of the National Center for Volunteer Movement and Support of Youth Initiatives, also attended the meeting.

- BSMU Volunteer Center is a supporting platform of the volunteer movement in the region and the country as a whole. For active work during the past year, BSMU Volunteer Center is recognized as the best in the Republic, - pointed out Ilshat Bikkulov.

As a result of the meeting, they prorposed to organize BSMU volunteers’ supervision of pupils in medical classes for career guidance.

"The most valuable thing in life is interpersonal relationships and professional competence, it is necessary to nurture and protect them in order to reach any heights in a professional way" – summed up the meeting Liliya S. Gumerova.
