US clinical pharmacist gave lectures to students of the faculty of Pharmacy at BSMU

In September and October Eric Tickle Klippel, a clinical pharmacist from the USA, conducted lectures for the 2 - 5 year students of the faculty of Pharmacy. Eric Tickle Klippel came to BSMU under the Fulbright program of the US State Department with his wife, Professor Selina Le May-Klippel. During several months they gave lectures, hold seminars, master classes for BSMU students.

The lecture was attended by the Dean of the faculty of Pharmacy, heads of specialized departments and teachers of the faculty of Pharmacy.

Eric Tickle Klippel is a hereditary pharmacist - his grandfather and father owned their pharmacies. After graduating from College, Eric Tickle Klippel worked in a pharmacy, then engaged in pharmaceutical management, now he works as a clinical pharmacist in a multi-hospital for 400 beds. At the lectures Eric Tickle Klippel introduced the students of the faculty of Pharmacy with the history of pharmacy formation in the USA, the main points of development, research of medicines, how pharmacy is currently trained in American universities and colleges and the work of pharmacists in hospitals and pharmacies of the USA is organized. His lectures aroused great interest among students who actively asked questions, demonstrating not only professional skills but knowledge of the English language.

Eric Tickle Klippel also attended a tour to BSMU building №11, which houses specialized departments of the faculty of Pharmacy. In the near future, it is planned to conduct practical classes with the participation of the American guest on pharmaceutical chemistry, technology of dosage forms, management and economics of pharmacy.
