International club “Mastering excellences in studies” starts its work

Dean's office for work with international students has formed the scientific and educational club "MASTERING EXCELLENCE IN STUDIES" to found the international platform at the University, to stimulate the interest of students in clinical disciplines and to introduce innovative forms of education, development of various forms of extracurricular work, improve the efficiency of educational activities of the University.

The main activities of the Club:

• Theoretical issues on clinical medicine
• Surgical Sciences
• Anesthesiology, resuscitation and first aid
• IT medicine
• Medical tourism

The Club is going to hold meetings devoted to topical issues, modern approaches and innovative methods of diagnosis and treatment of diseases in order to improve theoretical training. For effective work, it is arranged to conduct educational study cases by specialists of the University or other medical organizations.

At the initial stage the participants intend to hold club classes at the Center of practical skills under the guidance of associate Professor Guzel A. Biktimirova and at the Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy department under the guidance of teacher Aria Nader.

It should be mentioned, that the leading volunteers who help international students with adaptation were Russian senior students and Russian-speaking foreigners who speak English: Sobyanina Ekaterina (group 205B, faculty of General Medicine), Tukhtaboev Afzal (group 313A, faculty of General Medicine), Andrew Zodinmavia (group 402B, faculty of General Medicine), Vildanov Tagir (group 604B, faculty of General Medicine), Khamitov Firat (group 403B, faculty of General Medicine), Ельфрэж-Ели Бемоне-Метомеби Elfrej-Eli Bemone-Metomeby (group 205B, faculty of General Medicine).

The opening of the Club marked the last week. The Club organized the Open day and held 2 club classes and 2 study cases for students.

The Open day was held in the Assembly hall of the 10th building and combined the presentation of the Club and the class on the technique of surgical suture. More than fifty people came to the Open day, at least 1/3 of them were Russian students who were ready to go together with friends from foreign countries to perfection in their future profession.

In addition to the Open day, exciting study cases on craniotomy (skull trepanation) and the club meeting on "Cardiopulmonary resuscitation" were held during the week. Scheduled regular study cases on cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the Center of practical skills, including the involvement of school students to the study cases who participate in the program "Medical classes".

Study cases on craniotomy, which were conducted by Rustem R. Shakirov and Ilya D. Isakov, neurosurgeons from City Hospital №21 and City Hospital №22 of Ufa, included the lecture and the practical part. Students from China, who passed our internship, also took an active part in the work of the Club. Together with the volunteer Garifullina Nargiza (5th year, faculty of General Medicine), the students from China not only honed the skills of craniotomy, but also had the opportunity to make new friends among our students from 45 countries.
