The seminar-working meeting of Republic of Bashkortostan perinatal diagnostics specialists was held in Republic Perinatal Center, Ufa

16 December in Ufa on the basis of State Budgetary Healthcare Institution Republic Perinatal Center, on the initiative of the head of the Neurology with Courses of Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics Department of BSMU, Ministry of Healthcare, Russian Federation, R. V. Magzhanov and its staff held a seminar-working meeting of experts of prenatal diagnostics in the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The meeting program included the results of the service activities, the results of the audit of early prenatal screening for 2016-2017 in the Republic of Bashkortostan; Federal data were compared with the results of the monitoring of congenital malformations, demographic indicators in the Republic of Bashkortostan and was submitted to proceedings of the II Congress of the Association of Specialists in Fetal Medicine (ASFM), which took place in St. Petersburg on 15 November, 2017.

At the working meeting the participants analyzed the causes of Down's syndrome missed cases by screening pregnant women in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the performance of the prenatal diagnosis clinics in Ufa and Birsk. The reports were presented by the head of the Neurology with Courses of Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics Department, Professor R. V. Magzhanov, Professor S. Sh. Murzabaeva, leaders of State Budgetary Healthcare Institution Republic Perinatal Center, Ufa, chief freelance specialists of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Bashkortostan A. K. Mardanova and M. K. Akhmadullina

The professional community of the Republic of Bashkortostan dealing with prenatal diagnosis agrees that such seminars and working meetings should be regular. According to the results of the meeting, it was decided to conduct the workshops on a quarterly basis, with the aim of improving the quality of medical genetic assistance to the population of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
