The first Robotic Surgery Center in the Volga Federal District will be opened in BSMU Clinic

February 23, 2018 there will be the Grand opening of the first Robotic Surgery Center in the Volga Federal District in the Clinic of Bashkir State Medical University. The Chief urologist at the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia Dmitry Pushkar, head of the International Laparoscopy and Robot-assisted Surgery Training Centre of Leipzig University Jens-Uwe Stolzenburg, chief urologist of the Volga Federal District, rector of BSMU Valentin Pavlov, and representatives of the medical community of the Republic of Bashkortostan and neighboring regions will attend it.

Robot-assisted surgery is the most advanced technology of minimally invasive endoscopic interventions nowadays. Surgery with the Da Vinci robot-surgeon use is conducted faster and easier, and it takes shorter time for the patient to recover. It is achieved due to the accuracy of movements and minimal intervention that the robot provides, as well as due to a huge number of additional features of the system. During surgery, the doctor receives a 3D image of the operating field with a 10-fold increase. The operation is carried out by small punctures with the help of micro-tools, replacing the hands of the surgeon. Seven degrees of freedom of surgical instruments movement allow producing the most accurate manipulation without damage to the blood vessels and nerves. Surgery is carried out with minimal blood loss and tissue trauma.

On 23 and 24 February, as part of the opening of the Robotic Surgery Center, master classes on robotic surgery will be held with the participation of world-class doctors:
