High-tech medicine can develop only if the country will reach a high-quality basic level of medical care in general, according to the Minister of Healthcare of Russia, Veronika Skvortsova. In her interview to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, she told about medical mistakes and how to avoid them, about the availability and development of medicine in the city and in the countryside. She also mentioned about how it had been possible to increase the life expectancy of Russians during last few years.

Concerning medical mistakes and the ways to avoid them, Veronika Skvortsova told about creation of a quality management of medical care system that would enable the doctor to rely on the best practices, verify their actions, and thereby prevent possible error. Moreover, this system will prompt the gap in knowledge, and the doctor will be able to pull up his professional level in time. This is the most important system direction in the development of health care, which is being created in our country for the first time. As a result, clinical recommendations were offered to develop. The best specialists of our country are working at it: academicians, heads of professional associations, leaders in various fields of medicine. One more topic of the interview was the accreditation of medical activities. It concerns those doctors during whose practice were mistakes and wrong activities.
