"I am a Professional": the start of the Olympiad – 2018

On September 26, registration for the Olympiad "I am a Professional" began.

 "I am a Professional" is a large-scale educational Olympiad of a new format based on the Yandex platform for students of different specialties: Technics, Humanity and Sciences. Experts from the leading Russian Universities and the largest companies in the country made tasks for the participants. The participants will be tested not the abstract erudition but professional knowledge. The best participants will receive cash prizes, benefits for admission to the magistracy, residency or graduate school, as well as prove themselves to employers.

The Olympiad consists of the following stages: correspondence - online and full-time. BSMU is one of the universities-co-organizers of the Olympiad, in our University there will be a full-time stage for students of the nearest regions.

This year, students of the faculties of General Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry and Pharmacy can participate in the Olympiad.

Last year, the Silver medalist of the Olympiad "I am a professional" became a student of the faculty of Dentistry, Yumagulova Alfiya. Alfiya received a personal invitation to participate in the all-Russian forum "Russia is a country of opportunities" and "Territory of meanings", a cash prize and the opportunity to enter the residency without competitive selection. In addition, the winners of the Olympiad were: students of the faculty of General Medicine, Gromenko Regina, Kinzyagulova Elvira, Protsenko Veronika and Karimova Gulnaz, students of the faculty of Dentistry, Arshinova Vladislava and Kadyrbaev Galim, winners-students of the faculty of General Medicine, Baigulova Regina, Zhakova Guzel, Petukhova Victoria and Vakhmyanina Victoria.

One of the key innovations of the student Olympiad "I am a Professional" in the 2018-2019 academic year is a large — scale educational program. From October to November, the universities-organizers will hold 162 webinars in all fields of the Olympiad. Having watched them, the participants will effectively prepare for the competition, taking into account the subject and level of tasks. Students will also be able to join online and face-to-face soft skills classes: from October to May, 21 webinars and 17 face-to-face trainings will be held in the Russian cities-participants. The events aim at developing flexible skills: self-presentation, business communication, oratory skills and other qualities demanded by the leading companies of the country and the world. In February 2019 the finalists of the Olympiad will be able to take part in the Winter Schools. The Winter Schools are educational forums focused on knowledge beyond the boundaries of the University programs, acquaintance with the practical aspects of professions and the latest trends in the development of industries.

In March-April 2019, the results will be summed up. Olympiad winners will receive cash prizes benefits for admission to the master's, residency and graduate school of the leading universities and research centers, they will be included in the national base "I am a Professional" and will get an internship in the prestigious Russian companies.
