BSMU rector met with Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Ufa

On 9 October Valentin N. Pavlov, rector of the Bashkir State Medical University, corresponding member of RAS, met with Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Ufa Em Said Davlat. Alexander A. Tsyglin, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, and Rasul S. Farshatov, dean of the faculty of working with international students, also attended the meeting.

The purpose of the visit of the Consul to the Bashkir State Medical University was to get acquainted with the University, the study of promising areas of cooperation in the field of Medicine. The meeting the participants discussed issues of educational cooperation and educational process of students from Tajikistan studying at BSMU. They put forward proposals for the development of further cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and BSMU in the provision of educational services to citizens of Tajikistan.

Currently, 404 students from Tajikistan are studying in BSMU. Many of them have significant success in studying and sports life of the University. 3rd year student of the faculty of General Medicine, Gafurjon Gafurov is the winner of the University Olympiad on Biochemistry, Ikrom Zinedinov, Tursunboy Rakhmonov, Faridun Shokirov are active participants of the International Olympiad on Surgery and Olympiad of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, dedicated to 85-th anniversary of BSMU. Among the students from Tajikistan there are candidates for masters of sports, winners and prize-winners of the all-Russian tournament and the championship of Bashkortostan in kickboxing and boxing.
