BSMU student won the Grant from the President of the Russian Federation and became the Best Volunteer of Bashkortostan

According to the results of the contest "Student of the year", which the Russian Youth Union holds annually, Aygul Nurieva, 6th-year student of the faculty of Pediatrics, won the nomination "Volunteer of the year in Bashkortostan".

Aygul presented the project "Hurriedly", aimed at reducing disability among premature babies, improving their quality of life. The project is based on the training of volunteers who will supervise mothers in the perinatal center, teach them the basics of habilitation, provide all the necessary information base. Currently, 20 trained volunteers supervise mothers in the perinatal center. They talk about the main problems that may arise in premature infants (retinopathy, cerebral palsy), show the basics of therapeutic exercises and massage, help doctors.

More than 100 applications from the leading educational institutions of Bashkortostan were submitted to the contest "Student of the Year". Twenty-six finalists passed face-to-face tests. In addition, the Federal Directorate invited Aygul to the all-Russian stage, which will be held in Kazan on 21-24 November.

It should be mentioned, that the project “Hurriedly” received the grant support from the Presidential Grants Fund. 217 000 000 rubles were allocated for the project. That means that another 40 volunteers will be able to receive training from the leading experts in neonatology, receive books and necessary manuals, and receive competent knowledge and experience.
