Rano Umurzakova, BSMU student, became “Miss International Ufa – 2018”

On 27 November more than 700 spectators were present at the most colorful show of November - the Republican Contest of Ethnic Beauty and Talent “MISS International UFA” on the stage of the Congress Hall. Twelve girls of different nationalities acquainted citizens of Ufa with their culture.

Interethnic beauty and talent contest "MISS International UFA" was held for the first time and gathered representatives from different countries and peoples of Russia. To become a participant of the Contest, the girls took part in the casting on 11 November in the concert hall “Bashkortostan”. Among the finalists, there were the girls from Adygea, Egypt, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, as well as the representatives of the Udmurts, Chuvash, Bashkirs, Tatars, and Russians.

Contestants told about themselves in their native language, sang folk songs and performed their national dances. In addition, they answered questions related to the history and culture of Bashkortostan. Before that, during the week they were preparing for the final at the hotel “Ural Tau”, where they were engaged with choreographers, dancers and musicians.

Each of the participants adequately presented their nationality, and the jury members expressed the hope that the competition will be annual.

Having passed difficult tests in a highly competitive environment, the victory in the competition was won by a native of Tajikistan, a 2^nd year student of the faculty of General Medicine at BSMU, Rano Umurzakova.

- For several weeks before the competition from morning till night we had an active rehearsal process: we were engaged in vocal, learned to defile correctly, worked with the choreographer. Hard work and the support of my family, fellow students and the University administration have helped me to win the contest, - shared her impressions Rano Umurzakova

Among the finalists at the competition were other representatives of BSMU, as one of the most multinational universities in Ufa. Our students were highly appreciated by the jury in the following categories:

Rolly Sain, 4th year student (India) – “Miss Exotic”

Aiesh Shakhd Tariq Adel Hassan, 1^st year student (Egypt) – “Miss Patriotism”

Elizaveta Rogacheva, 3^rd year student (Russia) – “Miss Music”

Chukwudi Favor, 1^st year student (Nigeria) – “Miss Energy”.
