Bulat Idrisov, the assistant of the Infectious Diseases department of IAPE, presented the first Digital Therapy project in Russia at Disrupt Berlin 2018 Conference (Germany)

Bulat Idrisov, assistant of the Infectious Diseases department at BSMU, took part in the Disrupt Berlin 2018 Conference. It took place on 29-30 November in Germany.

Disrupt Berlin for the sixth time became the platform for the latest developments and gathered more than 400 innovators and potential investors from all over the world.

During the Conference Bulat Idrisov presented the development of BSMU called Panacea.Cloud. Panacea.Cloud is the online program for the formation of healthy habits in order to prevent the development of chronic diseases (type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, etc.) by reducing excess body weight. The program is based on foreign methods, the effectiveness of which is scientifically proved in the course of large-scale research. At the moment, this technique is adapted for Russia under the leadership of Bulat Idrisov.

At the Congress Panacea.Cloud attracted the attention of experts as a promising project in the field of digital therapy.

Bulat Idrisov graduated from the University in 2012, specializing in Pediatrics. During his studies, under the guidance of BSMU Professor Leyla Akhmadeeva and Professor Steve Sussman from the University of Southern California, adapted the American program to reduce tobacco dependence among adolescents (Project X) for Russia. Presented the results of this work at the World Congress of the World Health Organization Board on drug addiction.

After completing his internship in Pediatrics, he received the grant of the Fulbright Program for a master degree at Brandeis University (the United States) in Healthcare Management, where he studied the cost-effectiveness of treatment of opioid dependence. After completing the master degree, he worked at Brandeis University at the Behavioral Health department as a research assistant, during which he developed a training course for graduate students entitled "The Global policy and strategy countries in the field of mental health," together with Professor Mary Jo Larson.

In 2016, he received the grant from the National Institute for Drug Abuse of the United States and began his research activities in the Therapy department of Boston Medical Center. There he studied the characteristics of nutrition and immunity among people who use drugs and have HIV infection. In addition, the area of his research included the problems of access to medical care and analysis of the validity of forced treatment of drug addicts. 

Bulat Idrisov is a regular reviewer of the journal "Substance Abuse Treatment, Prevention, and Policy", as well as a special reviewer of the journals "The Lancet Public Health", "Journal of Medical Research", "Addiction Science & Clinical Practice", “Evaluation & the Health Professions", “Nicotine & Tobacco Research”.

Bulat Idrisov is a member of scientists’ group in the Global Burden of Diseases of Washington University, together with the collaborating Center of the World Health Organization.
