The first Russian-Israeli Medical Forum is held in Ufa

On 18-19 October 2019, the first Russian-Israeli Medical Forum takes place in Ufa. It is a platform for discussing topical healthcare issues of the two countries.

The Forum started with the plenary session, which was attended by Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Roman Barak, head of the International Project "Doctors Without Borders" in Israel, chief physician of Horev Medical Center (Haifa, Israel), Maxim Zabelin, acting Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Valentin Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS, heads and specialists of healthcare institutions, representatives of the scientific community, industry development institutes and educational institutions, public organizations in Russia and Israel.

The forum program includes lectures, seminars, round tables and case studies on topical issues of health protection and reduction of mortality from the most common causes - diseases of the circulatory system, cancer, as well as issues of children rehabilitation.

Radiy Khabirov, Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, opened the forum:

- We closely follow the progress of world Medicine, try to adopt all the best, direct significant funds to the development of healthcare system and Medical Science. Broad prospects for moving forward are being created due to the Federal national projects "Health care" and "Demography" and our Republican programs. As a result, we have reduced the overall mortality of the population, mortality from many diseases, - said the Head of the Republic.

In addition, in his welcoming speech, Radiy Khabirov pointed out that Bashkir State Medical University is a partner of the leading clinics in many countries. Hundreds of international students study in its walls. In turn, our graduates undergo clinical residency at universities in Germany and China. Moreover, among the famous doctors in Israel, many graduates are from the Bashkir State Medical University.

As part of the opening ceremony of the Forum, Radiy Khabirov presented Roman Barak with the Gratitude of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In turn, the chief physician of Horev Medical Center thanked the Head of the region for warm words and honor to be awarded.

– I am very pleased to be here in the year of the 100th anniversary of Bashkortostan. The representative Israeli delegation has arrived in the Republic to share what we know and to see the best that you have in order to erase the borders between us – said Roman Barak. – We want to make a contribution to the most expensive-human lives and health.

The head of the project "Doctors Without Borders" proposed to organize an exchange of delegations of Israel and Bashkortostan on a regular basis to exchange experience in the field of healthcare, and mentioned that jointly with the Head of the region, it was decided to build a modern screening Institute in the Republic with the participation of Israeli specialists.

Valentin Pavlov, rector of the Bashkir State Medical University, corresponding member of RAS, awarded Roman Barak the title "Honorary Professor of the Bashkir State Medical University".

In addition, the Eurasian Forum on Antimicrobial Therapy and Clinical Microbiology ended today. Maxim Zabelin, acting Minister of Healthcare of Bashkortostan, awarded Li Fan, Vice-President of Jilin University, President of Norman Bethune Scientific Center of Health (Changchun, China), Roman Barak, chief physician of Horev Medical Center (Israel, Haifa), head of the International project "Doctors Without Borders", Roman Kozlov, rector of Smolensk State Medical University, Director of the Institute of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy of SSMU, President of the Interregional Association for Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, the chief freelance specialist of the Ministry of Healthcare for Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobial resistance, , Professor Alexey Tutelyan head of the Laboratory of infections associated with the provision of medical care of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Amrillo Inoyatov, rector of Abu Ali Ibn Sino Bukhara State Medical Institute, and Peng Yuhong, Professor of Peking University.
