On December 31, at the New Year Eve, BSMU traditionally organized a festive New Year event for students who stayed in the hostel for the New Year holidays. That time, the venue was the Sports hall of the BSMU campus #10, because more than 1,200 international students and almost 800 Russian students stayed in the city for the holidays. The New Year’s event for students is a great opportunity to bring together Russian and international students from 50 countries.
The culmination of the evening was the greeting of Valentin N. Pavlov, the BSMU rector, corresponding member of RAS, as traditionally Russian Father Frost and Professor Tatyana V. Viktorova as the Snow Maiden.
The celebration was attended by Vitaly Viktorov, Vice-rector for regional health development, Vladimir Ishmetov, Vice-rector for educational and social work, Rasul Farshatov, Dean for work with international students, Salavat Shamsutdinov, Chairman of the trade Union of BSMU students, and University faculty.
The New Year’s Eve included performances of student groups and fun contests. Incendiary youth compositions and national compositions from India, Africa, and Central Asia did not leave anyone indifferent.
The festive buffet was organized for students.
The New Year event was held in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
