BSMU representatives took part in the meeting of Radiy Khabirov with scientists

On 8 February in the Ufa Congress Hall "Toratau" head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov met with young scientists and heads of Universities and scientific organizations of the republic in the Toratau Ufa Congress Hall.

The event was attended by Valentin N. Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Irina R. Rakhmatullina, Vice-rector for research, Azat R. Bilyalov, head of the Information technology department.

Radiy Khabirov congratulated the scientific community of the region on the professional holiday - Day of Russian Science and recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin declared 2021 the year of Science and Technology.

“Science has become a driving force for the development of the innovative sector of economy, public and social systems that determine the quality of people’s life," - head of the region said. - Largely due to the high scientific, industrial, technological, and innovative potential of Bashkortostan, it is one of the leading, most industrially developed regions of the country. And the basis of this potential is our academic and university science, scientific divisions of large enterprises”.

Radiy Khabirov called the main achievement of the Republic in 2020 was the creation of the world-class Eurasian Research and Educational Center (REC). The head of the region thanked the representatives of universities for supporting that decision and emphasized their great contribution to the development of REC.

- The victory of our Research and Educational Center is the first step towards the transformation of education and science of the Republic, – said the head of Bashkortostan. – We have decent personnel, scientific schools and everything that is necessary for a breakthrough. But competition is also escalating. Powerful scientific and educational complexes and federal universities have developed around our republic. If we do not make efforts in this direction, we may lose the competition in the future. It is time for us to think about combining the efforts of a number of our higher educational institutions, in particular, Bashkir State University and Ufa State Aviation Technical University, in order to preserve their identity, become stronger and win the competition. New achievements are possible only when we break the stereotypes.

Azat R. Bilyalov, head of the Information technology department of Bashkir State Medical University, said that in 2020 BSMU became a member of the Association of Medical Universities in Europe. The University is integrated into the work on the development of RecA and maintains close contacts with similar institutions from the SCO and BRICS countries.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of the region presented the representatives of the scientific community with state awards of the Republic.
