On February 21-24, a marathon of master classes in foreign languages "Journey into the world of languages" was held

"Language is the soul of the people," said philosopher G. Kuchelbecker, a friend of the great Russian poet A.S. Pushkin. Indeed, the native language reflects the history, worldview, culture, and values of the nation, passed down from generation to generation.

The preservation of the native language is an important mission of every person.

Mother Tongue Day is celebrated all over the world on February 21. In honor of this event at the university on February 21-24, a marathon of master classes in foreign languages "Journey to the World of Languages" (Linguatrip) was held, organized by the Department of Russian Language, Linguistics and International Communication together with the Dean's Office for Work with Foreign students. More than 70 students took part in master classes, demonstrating to the audience the subtleties of their native language and teaching them through songs, poems, tongue twisters and others.

Over the course of three days, students were able to attend more than 50 master classes, try themselves in 30 foreign languages, including both popular ones - French, Italian, Hindi, Arabic, and rare ones - Ga, Yoruba, Telugu, etc. The participants studied graphics, phonetics, read tongue twisters, got acquainted with grammar, greeted in Bengali, counted in Marathi, sang in Kannada and Swahili, said goodbye in Malayalam.

Each speaker tried not only to teach his native language, but also to immerse the audience in the national flavor. So, many people came in their national clothes, at the Swahili master class, the audience tasted the national dish, and in Farsi, active participants received a compliment in the form of sweets from Iran.
