Employees and students of the University took part in the All-Russian action "Immortal Regiment"

May 9, on the Day of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the procession of the "Immortal Regiment" took place throughout the country for the 12th time.

This year the event brought together a record number of participants in Ufa - more than 200 thousand people. The Bashkir State Medical University also took an active part. The management, doctors, staff and students of the University proudly carried their heroes in a single formation.

"I came to the Immortal Regiment to honor the memory of the fallen soldiers and celebrate Victory Day. This is an important holiday for me. Our grandfathers, great-grandfathers, grandmothers fought for us and thanks to their feat we are now living. I have a photo of my great-grandfather in my hands - he is the company commander of the 17th battalion of the Marine Corps. He participated in the defense of Sevastopol. Now it is important for us to get together in order to preserve the memory of the exploits of our loved ones", a 5th year student Diana Sapatova said.

The column passed along Oktyabrya Avenue, from the street named after the city of Halle to Kolskaya. The total length of the route was about 6 kilometers.

“I'm walking with a portrait of my great-grandfather. In July 1944, he received the rank of guards captain and a reward for saving more than 100 soldiers at the front. I came from Tajikistan, now I study in Russia. Participation in the action is very important - it is necessary to maintain friendship between peoples and not forget the heroes of our countries", 1st year student Donirkhon Vokhitov said.

The action "Immortal Regiment" has long become international. So, this year it was held in more than 95 countries, which emphasized its international status. And also once again proved how important the connection of generations is.
