BSMU hosted the international scientific and practical conference “Pharmaceutical education, modern aspects of science and practice” with the participation of professors from Iran, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

On 23 May, the international scientific and practical conference "Pharmaceutical education, modern aspects of science and practice" with the participation of professors from Iran, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan was held in the Assembly hall of BSMU building №10:

Farshad Shirazi, Professor, head of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center of Shahid Beheshti Medical Sciences University, Tehran;

Saule Ordabaeva, Professor, and Makhinur Mirsoatova, master student, from South Kazakhstan State Pharmaceutical Academy, Shymkent, Kazakhstan;

Barbu Muratalieva, associate Professor, head of the Chemistry of Medicines and Pharmacognosy department of I. K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyzstan State Medical Academy, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Vice-rector for Medical Work at BSMU, Vitaly V. Viktorov, opened the conference:

- The leaders of medicine and pharmacy today have a big task – to develop the pharmaceutical industry in all regions of the country. Earlier, a bill was proposed to ban imported medicines in Russia. However, today it is impossible, in our country only about 30% of the medicinal products necessary for quality health care are produced. In the coming years, the country's leadership has set the task to reach production to 70%, so the pharmaceutical link will develop even more actively in the near future, - Vitaly V. Viktorov welcomed the participants of the conference.

Valery Kataev, dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at BSMU, addressed the conference and spoke about the research in the field of pharmacy at Bashkir State Medical University.

Farshad Hosseini Shirazi, Professor, head of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center of Shahid Beheshti Medical Sciences University (Tehran), made the report. Professor Shirazi spoke about the features of pharmaceutical education in Iran, and emphasized the issue of cellular mechanisms of drugs action.

BSMU is actively cooperating with Shahid Beheshti Medical Sciences University. Thanks to Professor Shirazi, Bashkir State Medical University and Shahid Beheshti Medical Sciences University signed in February 2018 the formal agreement on cooperation, scientific exchange, the possibility of academic mobility of students and professors: http://bashgmu.ru/en/news/10749/

Guests from Kazakhstan made the following presentations: Professor Saule Ordabaeva reported about the overview of a Unified methodology of piracetam determination in the dosage forms, the student Makhinur Mirsoatova told about the justification of syrup based on herbs marshmallow and licorice told.

Cooperation between BSMU and South Kazakhstan State Pharmaceutical Academy has been lasting for five years, since the signing of the Memorandum of cooperation. Annually, in the framework of academic mobility, students from our University spend a semester studying in SKSPHA, in turn, students from Kazakhstan are trained in our University. Today, four students from BSMU are studying in Kazakhstan, four students from SKSPHA are studying with us.

Associate Professor, head of the Chemistry of Medicines and Pharmacognosy department of I. K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyzstan State Medical Academy, (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) made the presentation on Pharmaceutical education in Kyrgyzstan.

Marina Dudarenko, associate Professor of Management and Economics of Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmacognosy at Orenburg State Medical University introduced the report "Marketing analysis of the market of vitamins for pregnant". BSMU professors and teachers made the reports too.

- We plan to make this conference annual to acquaint the pharmaceutical community of our Republic and foreign countries with the latest developments in the field of pharmaceutical disciplines, - commented the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of BSMU, Valery Kataev.
