On 22-23 June the IV All-Russian Urologists School with international participation “Robotic surgery in urology. Plastic and reconstructive laparoscopic urology” will be held.
The leading experts and scientists from Germany, China and Russia will attend the School: Wolf Ferdinand Wieland, Professor of Urology at Regensburg University (Germany), Oliver Felthaus, head of the Stem Cells Research Center at Regensburg University (Germany), and Xu Wanhai, Director of the Urology Department at Harbin Medical University (China).
During two days, leading surgeons from Russia and abroad will conduct 15 demonstration operations in different techniques: radical (open), laparoscopic, robot-assisted.
- This year we hold the Urologists School, unlike previous years, with such a new direction of surgery as the robotic surgery using Da Vinci Robot, - commented Valentin N. Pavlov, the rector of BSMU, chief freelance urologist of the VFD. - The purpose of the School is to show that each technique has its own subtleties and nuances, as well as indications.
The school will organize the training on Fusion biopsy, one of the most accurate methods of diagnosis of prostate cancer. At Fusion biopsy imaging techniques are used (ultrasound or MRI images of the prostate gland) and systematically more biomaterial from hard to reach places of the prostate is taken, in consequence of which the chance to find cancer cells, if any are present in hard to reach places, increases.
On-line broadcast from the operating hall in BSMU Clinic will be organized in the conference room and on the Internet.
Start at 9:00 a.m.
Place: Teatralnaya str. 2/1, BSMU bldg #10.
