Online lectures on Interfaculty Course in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The interfaculty course of Professor Jürgen Hoffmann, Europe's leading specialist in Maxillofacial surgery, Director of the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at the Medical faculty, University of Heidelberg, starts online.

Responsible for the course are Milyausha F. Kabirova, Dean of the faculty of Dentistry, BSMU, Ruslan V. Prof. Jürgen Hoffmann is President of the  German society of Oral and maxillofacial surgery and member of the Board of the German Association of General Surgery. In addition, he is member of the board of the reconstructive surgery section in the Straßburg osteosynthesis research group (S.O.R.G.), where he is responsible for organizing international advanced training courses.

Background:

Prof. Jürgen Hoffmann studied Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Tubingen (Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen). In 1993, he received permission to practice medicine. After studying, Prof. Hoffman worked as a research assistant at the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic and polyclinic at the University clinic of Tubingen. There he presented his thesis and in 1997 received the specialization "Maxillofacial surgery". Two years later, Prof. Hoffman received a habilitation degree. In 2000, he became a senior doctor. A year later, Prof. Hoffman received an additional specialty "Plastic surgery" and became a specialist in Oral Surgery. In 2005, he became a Professor at the University of Tubingen, and in 2010 became a Professor at the University of Heidelberg (Department of maxillofacial surgery). Since then, Prof. Hoffman has been the Director of the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic and polyclinic at the Heidelberg University hospital. Since 2014, he also holds the position of Deputy Speaker of the Head and neck Center   at the Heidelberg University clinic.
