Currently, the department is staffed with highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel. The department has two professors, four associate professors, and ten assistants. The settling down of the teaching staff is 70%.
All conditions have been created at the department to ensure the training of graduates in the above specialties. The possibility of mastering theoretical knowledge and practical skills is provided by the availability of highly qualified personnel equipped with the necessary didactic material and equipment of classrooms and treatment rooms, the publication of textbooks on the discipline (including those with the stamp of UMO), the high demands of teachers on themselves and students.

The staff of the Department of Surgical Dentistry pays great attention to the organization of the educational process, conducting classes at a high methodological level. For each topic of the discipline, the teachers of the department have developed guidelines for students and recommendations for teachers, which are regularly updated. The Department of Surgical Dentistry was one of the first to introduce monitoring and training computer programs, test tasks, situational tasks into the learning process. All study rooms are decorated with thematic stands.
The department has printed more than 50 educational and methodological manuals for students of the Faculty of Dentistry and more than 20 for students of medical and preventive medicine faculties, including textbooks with the stamp of the UMO (see the EDUCATIONAL PORTAL).
Much attention is also paid to the extracurricular work of students. For this purpose, the department has a library, a video library, albums, computer programs. The staff of the department compiled guidelines for independent extracurricular work of students, computer versions of textbooks.
Sets of slides have been created for all sections of surgical dentistry at the department, all lectures have multimedia accompaniment.
Methodical meetings are systematically held, pedagogical skills are improved in the leading universities of the country, mutual attendance of classes is practiced.
The staff of the department constantly participates in the work of interuniversity conferences on teaching methods. More than 50 articles on educational and methodological issues have been published in collections of various levels.
According to the results of educational and methodological work, the department annually takes prizes at the university.
