Department of Otorhinolaryngology with IDPO course Faculty of General Medicine

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology is part of the medical faculty of BSMU and is located on the basis of the Republican Clinical Hospital named after G.G.Kuvatov. Since 1992, the department has been headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Nina Alekseevna Arefyeva. Since April 2016 – the head of the department is carried out by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate professor Savelyeva Elena Evgenievna.

 

At the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, training is carried out within the framework of postgraduate education: internship, residency, postgraduate studies, advanced training course for specialists in otorhinolaryngology of IDPO (head of the course Assoc.A.A.Tsyglin).

In terms of improving the professional level of ENT doctors, monthly meetings of the Association of Otorhinolaryngologists of the Republic of Belarus (MALOR) are held, where the staff of the department prepare speeches on various topics, as well as annual Republican scientific and practical conferences.

The department holds meetings of the student scientific circle in the context of the main scientific directions of the department: immunology, immunopathology and immunorehabilitation in otorhinolaryngology, infection and allergy, inflammatory diseases of ENT organs. The best student scientific papers are presented at annual conferences held within the framework of interuniversity competitions among medical universities, as well as at All-Russian scientific and practical conferences.

Currently, a small but wonderful team works at the department: head of the department, Associate Professor E.E. Savelyeva (since April 2016), Professor N.A. Arefyeva, Professor L.F. Aznabayeva, associate professors R.S. Abdurashitov, T.M. Yanborisov, A.A. Tsyglin, E.D. Guseva, D.N. Bogomanova, E.R. Sharipova, assistant to R.M. Pestova, who have the highest professional therapeutic and pedagogical potential, which allows us to say with confidence: the department has a good future.

Students of the following faculties study at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology with the IDPO course:

- medical (full-time training)

- pediatric (full-time)

- dental (full-time)

- preventive medicine with the Department of Microbiology (full-time)

Currently, educational and methodological work is carried out at the department according to training programs in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education.

The working programs on the discipline "Otorhinolaryngology" for teaching students in the specialties are brought into compliance with the Federal State Educational Standard:

Medical business code 31.05.01.

Pediatrics code 31.05.02.

Dentistry code 31.05.03

Medical and preventive business code 32.05.01.

In accordance with the educational and methodical manual "The position and procedure for the formation of educational and methodological materials" (2016), educational and methodological complexes (UMCS) of the discipline in all specialties have been fully prepared and introduced into the learning process in printed and electronic format.

The UMK consists of the following documents:

- The Law on Education

- Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education

- curriculum;

- working program of the discipline;

- lecture course annotations (methodological development of the lecture);

- methodological recommendations for teachers;

- methodological guidelines for students to classroom forms of work

- methodological guidelines for independent classroom work;

- methodological recommendations for independent extracurricular work;

- a set of tests for the discipline (electronic and printed versions) for the first stage of the exam / test;

- fund of questions for the II stage of the exam/test "Practical skills";

- fund of control questions for the III stage of the exam / test (in the form of an interview).

The full educational and methodological complex (UMK) for the discipline, as well as the fund of evaluation tools (tests) is presented on the educational portal of BSMU in the section of the Department of otorhinolaryngology with the course of IDPO.

Specialists are trained at the department in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard:

- according to the residency program in the specialty "31.08.58. Otorhinolaryngology"

- according to the postgraduate program in the specialty "14.01.03 Diseases of the ear, throat and nose"

The OOP VO – residency program in the specialty "31.08.58 Otorhinolaryngology" has been developed.

A postgraduate program in the field of training "31.06.01. Clinical medicine" has been developed in the specialty "14.01.03 Diseases of the ear, throat and nose".

OPOP VO and a complete educational and methodological complex for the residency program in the specialty "31.08.64. Surdology - otorhinolaryngology" have been developed for licensing.

The UMC of residency and postgraduate studies includes:

- the main educational program of the specialty;

- qualification characteristics of the specialist;

- curriculum;

- working program of disciplines;

- lecture course annotations (methodological development of the lecture);

- methodological recommendations for teachers;

- methodological guidelines for residents (postgraduates) for classroom forms of work

- methodological guidelines for independent classroom work of residents (postgraduates);

- methodological recommendations for independent extracurricular work of residents;

- a set of tests in disciplines (electronic and printed versions) for the intermediate certification of residents;

- fund of examination questions, test tasks, situational tasks for the state final certification (for residents, graduate students);

For students of the course of otorhinolaryngology IDPO in accordance with Federal Law Article 73 (Order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation No. 66n of 03.08.12.) 6 programs of additional training of DPOP have been developed.

For students and students of IDPO, the Department has published textbooks "Immunocytological studies in rhinology", "Clinical lectures on otorhinolaryngology", "Clinical lectures on pediatrics" to solve the Problem Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. To the "National Manual" edited by V.T.Palchun (2008) and the "Manual of Rhinology" edited by G.Z.Piskunov, S.Z.Piskunov (2011) by professors of the Department Arefieva N.A. and Aznabaeva L.F. chapters on immunology in otorhinolaryngology, textbooks "Anatomy, physiology and methods of examination of ENT organs" (Arefyeva N.A., Guseva E.D., 2013), "Immunocytological studies in the diagnosis of rhinitis and rhinosinusitis: atlas (Aznabayeva L.F., Arefyeva N.A., Kilsenbaeva F.A., 2013), 2nd revised edition of "Otorhinolaryngology: A National Guide/ edited by V.T.Palchun. – 2nd ed., reprint. and additional, 2016 (Aznabayeva L.F., Arefyeva N.A. chapters on immunology).

The staff of the IDPO course published a monograph "Phlegmons and other inflammatory diseases of the orbit" (M.: Tsyglin A.A., Abdurashitov R.Sh. et al. 2012), textbooks "The position and procedure for the formation of UMK" (Tsyglin A.A., 2013), "Development, structure and function of the organs of smell, hearing and balance" (Kayumov F.A., Tsyglin A.A., Savelyeva E.E., 2013), "Occupational diseases of ENT organs" (author's collective, including Arefyeva N.A., Savelyeva E.E., 2016).
