The Department of Infectious Diseases with the IDPO course belongs to the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention with the Department of Biology.
The Department of Infectious Diseases with an IDPO course is an educational and scientific structural division of the BSMU of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, which carries out educational and methodological activities in the disciplines assigned to it. The department is responsible for the quality of training of graduates in the direction or specialty 31.05.01-Medical science, including foreign students; 31.05.02-Pediatrics; 32.05.01-Medical and preventive medicine; 31.05.03-Dentistry, including foreign students.

To successfully master the discipline, the department uses the following forms and methods of studying the subject:
- multimedia lectures highlighting the latest achievements in the field of the subject being studied;
- practical exercises using methodological recommendations (developed by the department staff), including solving situational problems, test tasks, demonstrating videos (including those performed with the direct participation of students), making medical records, working in the department under the guidance of a teacher.
