HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT The X-ray service in Bashkiria was organized in 1926, when the first X-ray room in the republic began to function at the first Soviet (Central Clinical) hospital in Ufa. Until this time, there was one X-ray room in the city of Perm, established in 1901, for the entire Ural region. The first radiologist was Alexey Afanasyevich Gorodetsky, a graduate of the Penza Medical Institute, an erudite doctor, a talented teacher and an experienced organizer. They opened training courses for radiologists. Among his students were P.L. Romanov, P.N. Patrusheva, K.E. Kosykh, S.P. Krasnov and others. Since 1936, A.A. Gorodetsky taught a course in radiology at the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases, at the same time he was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences without defending a dissertation. In 1940, among the 7 x-ray machines that arrived in Ufa, one was installed at the Belarusian State Medical Institute. In 1944, A.A. Gorodetsky, having defended his doctoral dissertation, moved to Kyiv. The management of the X-ray station and the radiology course passed to the practical physician Ksenia Evgrafovna Kosykh. It trained about 100 doctors and 200 laboratory assistants for Bashkiria. The clinical base of the course was City Hospital No. 1. In 1954, the Department of Radiology and Radiology of the Belarusian State Medical Institute was founded on the basis of the Republican Clinical Hospital. The first head of the department was radiologist German Germanovich Golovach, later - professor, head of the department of radiology at the Leningrad TsOLIUV. Since 1956, for 30 years, the department was headed as an associate professor by Bari Batyrgareevich Kudashev, who graduated from graduate school at the Central X-ray and Radiological Institute of the Ministry of Health of the RSFSR and defended his Ph.D. thesis, and since 1974 - professor, doctor of medical sciences. He was a man of high moral qualities, a talented teacher, a famous scientist, a highly qualified radiologist and radiologist. Subsequently, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences Ildar Ishakovich Kamalov /1987-1988/, Associate Professor Maysara Kasimovna Nabiullina /1988-1999/. The first clinical base of the department was the Republican Clinical Hospital, and since 1966 - the Republican Oncology Dispensary. The assistants of the department were A.K. Fedorov (1954-1965), M.Kh. Abdyushev (1966-1972), S.M. Bashirov (1963-1967), Candidate of Medical Sciences F.K. Akhtyamov (1964-1987), Candidate of Medical Sciences M.K. Nabiullina (1970-1988), A.G. The department provided postgraduate training of radiologists and radiologists through residency, primary specialization courses and thematic improvement cycles. The scientific developments of the department's employees covered the most clinically important problems of that period: X-ray diagnostics of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, musculoskeletal system, lungs, radiation diagnostics, treatment of oncological diseases, prevention and treatment of radiation reactions and complications. More than 300 scientific papers have been published, department employees took part in regional, republican and international conferences, congresses, and symposiums. The department carried out postgraduate training of radiologists and radiologists through residency, primary specialization courses and thematic improvement cycles. since 1998, training of doctors in the specialty “ultrasound diagnostics” began. From 1999 to 2000, teachers of the department carried out activities as part of the department of oncology. Since 2001, the Department of Radiation Diagnostics and Radiation Therapy with a course at the Institute of Postgraduate Education has been headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences (1999), Professor (2008) Irina Viktorovna Verzakova. Since 2001, the clinical bases of the department have been the Republican Clinical Oncology Dispensary and the Ufa Emergency Hospital, since 2008 - City Clinical Hospital No. 21, since 2012 - BSMU Clinic. Faculty of the department: Doctor of Medical Sciences (2000), Professor (2000) Fagim Fanisovich Mufazalov (worked part-time from 2001 to 2008 and from 2012 to the present).
