The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of the Belarusian State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia was created under the leadership of Professor N.N. Glebova in September 1979 on the basis of City Clinical Hospital No. 8. Over the years, the department was headed by: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Nadezhda Nikolaevna Glebova (1979-1990), Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Vladimir Olegovich Vekhnovsky (1990-1994) , Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Latypov Ayrat Sarvarovich (1994-2002). From 2002 to the present, the head of the department is Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alfiya Galimovna Yashchuk.

The department is located at several clinical sites: 1) Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 8, which has a maternity ward with 60 beds (bears the high UNESCO title of “Child-Friendly Hospital”), two gynecological departments with 60 beds each; 2) MU GKRD No. 3 with 130 beds. In addition, employees of the department provide medical and advisory (including high-tech) assistance to the population in the gynecological clinic of the Belarusian State Medical University, which has 25 beds. Classes on acquiring practical skills for young specialists are held at the Training Simulation Center of the Belarusian State Medical University.

The main clinical base of the department is the Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 8 of the city of Ufa. Many teachers are on duty in specialized departments of the hospital, inviting students to these duties. The department is actively developing and implementing new technologies in healthcare and conducting scientific research. Every year the department prepares for the defense of a dissertation. The main scientific directions of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 are the course of obstetric and gynecological pathology against the background of connective tissue dysplasia, the preservation and strengthening of reproductive health.

History Of The Department

The Department Of Obstetrics And Gynecology No. 2 Was Created Under The Leadership Of Professor N.N. Glebova In September 1979 On The Basis Of City Clinical Hospital No. 8.

Nadezhda Nikolaevna Glebova - Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Honored Doctor of the Republic of Bashkortostan. She defended her doctoral dissertation “Scientific foundations of specialized care for women with prolapse and prolapse of the internal genital organs” (1978). New surgical technologies were introduced at the clinical base under the leadership of Professor N.N. Glebova.

From 1990 to 1994, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of the Belarusian State Medical Institute was headed by Associate Professor, Ph.D. Vekhnovsky Vladimir Olegovich, a brilliant gynecologist surgeon who died untimely. His dissertation was devoted to the problem of abortion in nulliparous women.

From 1994 to 2001, the department was headed by Associate Professor, Ph.D. Latypov Airat Sarvarovich. His PhD thesis was devoted to the problem of medical rehabilitation during emergency obstetric and gynecological operations. He introduced methods of plastic surgery for malformations of the uterus and vagina. In the memory of his students and colleagues, Airat Sarvarovich remained not only an unsurpassed surgeon and a talented teacher, but also a sensitive, responsive, incredibly modest person.

In 2002, the department was headed by MD, professor Yashchuk Alfiya Galimovna.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with the course of IDPO has the main clinical base of the City Clinical Hospital No. 8 of Ufa. Hospital No. 8 is a city multidisciplinary hospital providing care to residents of the Ordzhonikidze and Kalinin districts of Ufa, which includes a polyclinic, gynecological, surgical, therapeutic, urological, intensive care departments and auxiliary paraclinical units (endoscopy, radiation, functional and laboratory diagnostics). The hospital is also a clinical base for the therapeutic and surgical departments of BSMU.

In order to introduce communication technologies and interactive forms of learning into the educational process, the department is equipped with modern information tools: electronic boards, digital cameras and video cameras, laptops, which has significantly improved the quality of visual and information support for the educational process. This equipment is permanently installed in classrooms No. 8 and No. 11, in which there is access to the Internet, series lectures, teleconferences, Skype lectures and examination consultations, and interactive games are held. Using multimedia technologies, students’ basic and acquired knowledge at the department is assessed, and daily incoming and outgoing test control is carried out.

The department was equipped with 10 laptops, which made it possible to carry out the test stage of exams directly at the department using laptops.

All employees of the department regularly improve their qualifications in their specialty and pedagogy. Seven employees were trained in the “Clinical Obstetrics” cycle (practical course using simulation platforms and childbirth simulators).” 15 employees of the department have an academic degree of Doctor and Candidate of Medical Sciences, all under the age of 60 years. The reserve of young creative specialists is 3 people, successfully combining teaching and research work.

The department graduates in the discipline “Obstetrics and Gynecology” in the specialty “General Medicine” of full-time and part-time education. In the 2012 – 2013 academic year.
