HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

For the first time, the teaching of military disciplines at the Bashkir State Medical University was mentioned in 1933, when Comrade. Safarov Rauf Ismalovich was appointed military commander.

Since 1936, sanitary tactics has been taught at the Department of Social Hygiene (by the head of the department, Nikolai A. Sherstennikov).

Since 1940, military disciplines have been taught at the Department of Military Sanitary and Physical Training, by the head of the department Levitan Veniamin Maksimovich, such disciplines as military training, sanitary tactics, medical and sanitary training, physical training, sanitary protection, pathology and therapy of chemical warfare agents were defined.

The department played an important role in the special training of graduates of the Bashkir Medical Institute, more than a thousand of whom participated in the Great Patriotic War and proved themselves as people devoted to the Motherland and their medical duty. Based on military experience, the officers of the department wrote a textbook on the organization and tactics of the medical service, a significant part of which formed the basis of the all-Union textbook on this discipline.

Over the years, about 23 thousand reserve officers have been trained and certified at the department, with the assignment of an officer rank., lieutenant of the reserve medical service.

Since 1947, almost 1,500 graduates of our university have graduated from the Navy. many of whom continue to serve as military doctors in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in command and medical positions:

With the arrival at the department of Colonel m/s Bikbulatov N.T., serious scientific research on toxicology and pharmacology developed in the candidate dissertations of colonels m/s Bikbulatov N.T., Mshkin VM, Vakaritsa A.F. and students of Bashkatov S.A. Srubilin D.V., Khaibulina 3.G, Khvkin M.Yu, Volkova E.S., as well as in the doctoral dissertation of V.T. Bikbulatov, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus, who in 1974-93 was the vice-rector for scientific work of our Institute. Over the past 5 years, the teachers of the department have published more than 50 scientific papers in the central press, received 2 patents of the Russian Federation, 10 copyright certificates for inventions. Since 1989, 8 PhD theses have been defended at the department on topical issues of modern toxicology, pharmacology and human ecology. In the scientific laboratory of the department, the drug "oxymethyluracil", which is currently authorized by the order of the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation for use in medical practice and for industrial production, was undergoing clinical study. As well as a new scientific direction on ecological and hygienic problems in the educational process of students of higher educational institutions.

The results of scientific research are used in teaching not only students of our university, but also students of Military Medical Institutes (included in the textbook "Military toxicology, radiology and protection from weapons of mass destruction approved by the Chief of the Main Military Medical Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation).

Teachers of the department took part in 18 international, more than 40 All-Russian (All-Union) symposiums, congresses and conferences, "All-Army scientific conferences on Toxicology".

The department also contributes to the improvement of the ecological situation in our republic. Recommendations have been written for emergency physicians, reception therapeutic, toxico-intensive care units, as well as doctors of the state sanitary supervision: "organophosphate poisoning (clinic, mechanisms of toxic action, treatment)" and "the most common intoxication in the Republic of Bashkortostan (clinic, treatment, prevention)".

The staff of the department does a lot of work on the military-patriotic education of students, the development of military-applied sports.

The work of the Department of Military and Extreme Medicine of the Bashkir State Medical University is evaluated satisfactorily by the rector and the command of the Volga-Ural Military District.
