4. History of the department:

The department was initially located on the basis of Children's City Hospital No. 2 (chief physician Plechev V.G.), since 1972 on the basis of the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital (chief physicians: Chany-shev D.D. - 1971 to 1984, from 1984 to 2008 Khasanov R.Sh. ., from 2008 to present Akhmetshin R.Z.). The first teachers were M. G. Mavlyutova, N. A. Vetoshkin, Sh. S. Ishimov. Teachers working for a long time: Ishimov Sh.S., Sadykov F.G., Davletshin R.I., Yuldashev M.T., Gainanov F.Kh. One of the most important sections of the department’s activities since its foundation is educational and methodological work. The educational process is carried out in three large children's medical institutions:

multidisciplinary Republican Children's Clinical Hospital (RCCH), in the city children's clinical hospital No. 17 of Ufa (GDKB No. 17), in the Emergency Hospital No. 22. The department has developed educational and methodological complexes for the main and elective disciplines, including work programs, methodological recommendations, lecture material, which are posted on the Educational Portal. Every year, about two thousand students of the pediatric and medical faculty and more than 20 clinical residents and graduate students are trained at the department. In 2012, the department organized a course in pediatric surgery of IDO, headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences. V.U. Sataev. Every year, the department welcomes assistants, associate professors, professors, and practitioners to improve their skills and exchange experience. Not only pediatric surgeons of the Republic of Bashkortostan, but also doctors from various cities of Russia and neighboring countries undergo training in the cycles of the “Pediatric Surgery” course. The department pays great attention to joint work with health authorities. Employees of the department, together with the team of surgical departments, carry out the treatment process in various areas of pediatric surgery, participate in the development and implementation of regional programs. The result of this joint work was that the team of the Department of Surgery of Newborns and Young Children of the State Budgetary Institution of Healthcare of the Republic of Belarus RDKB received the “Vocation” award in the nomination “For conducting a unique operation that saved a person’s life” in 2016 (Neudachin A.E., Latypova G.G.)

Mansurova. – doctor of the neonatal intensive care unit of the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital, Neudachin A.E. – head Department of Neonatal Surgery of the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital, Mingulov F.F. – doctor of the neonatal surgery department

Many employees of the department are members of the pediatric and surgical council, the certification commission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus for surgery, and are also members of the dissertation council in the specialty “Pediatric Surgery” of the university. In 1993, Professor A.A. Gumerov organized the Association of Pediatric Surgeons of the Republic of Bashkortostan (now the Bashkir regional branch of the Russian Association of Pediatric Surgeons) and is its permanent leader. At the meeting of the Association, much attention is paid to the professional training of specialists - pediatric surgeons of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Many employees of the department are the main freelance specialists of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan. They pay great attention to the organization and improvement of the children's surgical service of the Republic of Belarus, constantly participate in scientific and practical international, Russian, republican conferences and seminars. The main scientific directions of the department (neonatal surgery, surgery, urology, traumatology, oncology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, surgical infection, endoscopic surgery) were developed based primarily on factors affecting the health and morbidity of the child population of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In the last three decades, the development of pediatric surgery has been closely connected with Professor A.A. Gumerov. and his students: professors R.Sh. Khasanov, P.I. Mironov, V.V. Makushkin, I.A. Mamleev, V.U. Sataev, R.H. Shangareeva, associate professors G.G. Latypova, R.A. Gumerov, V.G. Alyangin, S.A. Islamov, assistants U.U. Yumaguzin, R.A. Nasyrov, P.Yu. Soldatov. The most significant event of the last twenty years has been the introduction into practice of endoscopic surgery (abdominal, thoracic), urology, orthopedics, neonatology, oncology and neonatal surgery. Professor Mamleev I.A. is one of the founders of pediatric endoscopy and endoscopic surgery both in Bashkortostan and in Russia. He performed the first laparoscopic interventions on children back in 1990. Thus, for the first time in the Russian Federation, in 1996 in Ufa, professors I.A. Mamleev, V.U. Sataev, V.V. Makushkin performed video-assisted thoracoscopic pneumonectomy and lobectomy on the child. Professors V.V. Makushkin and P.I. Mironov (1996) developed and put into practice a method of one-lung ventilation during video-assisted thoracoscopic lung operations. Professor V.U. Sataev (2004) developed a fundamentally new direction - endoscopic treatment of postoperative peritonitis in children. Professor I.A.Mamleev, associate professors R.Kh.Shangareeva and Sh.S.Ishimov introduced endoscopic treatment of echinococcosis of the lungs and liver in children. V.A. Paramonov and A.K. Alibaev actively introduced endovideo-surgical methods for the treatment of adhesive intestinal obstruction. Currently, endoscopic methods are used in surgery of newborns for esophageal atresia, diaphragmatic hernia, congenital intestinal obstruction, Hirschsprung's disease, tumors and cysts of the abdominal cavity (V.A. Paramonov, A.E. Neudachin, A.S. Kashin, R R. Bayazitov). The clinic successfully develops kidney transplantation and autotransplantation. Related kidney transplants are being actively introduced into practice (Sh.S. Smakov, S.A. Konovalov, R.Z. Akhmetshin). Candidates of Medical Sciences A.G. Timershin and R.M. Galimova are successfully introducing modern high-tech methods of treating children with neurosurgical pathology. Professors V.U. Sataev, I.A. Mamleev, Candidate of Medical Sciences A.G. Tsyryak developed and successfully used a method of video-retroperitoneoscopic treatment of kidney cysts. The Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics has introduced modern high-tech methods of surgical treatment of severe scoliosis (Davletshin R.I., Psyanchin T.S., Farkhshatov A.V.), and for traumatic injuries of the knee joint - arthroscopic methods of surgical intervention. The clinic uses surgical interventions using intramedullary and external metal osteosynthesis, extrafocal hardware osteosynthesis, and improves the technology of surgical interventions, which is extremely important for open fractures, multiple and combined trauma (Davletshin R.I., Islamov S.A.). International cooperation is actively developing; in 2013, international cooperation agreements were concluded with the Medical Faculty of the University of Heidelberg (Mannheim) and the University of Regensburg. A number of employees completed internships in specialized departments of German clinics. Cooperation continues with medical universities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The staff of the clinic and department conduct scientific research in close contact with medical universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Irkutsk, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Samara, Kazan, Voronezh, etc. The results of scientific research by department employees were reported at all-Russian and republican congresses, congresses, symposiums and conferences. Collaborators of the department took part in International conferences in Obergurgl (Austria, 2018), Freising (Germany, 2018), Boston (USA, 2018), Amsterdam (Netherlands, 2018), Leipzig (Germany, 2018). From 1990 to the present, employees of the department have defended 16 doctoral and 67 candidate dissertations, including: under the supervision of Professor A.A. Gumerova - 9 doctoral and 43 candidate dissertations; Professor P.I. Mironov - 3 doctoral and 19 candidate, professor I.A. Mamleeva - 1 doctoral and 3 candidate theses, professor V.U. Sataeva - 1 doctoral and 3 candidate theses, professor V.V. Makushkina – 4 candidate dissertations. Professor A.A. Gumerov published 9 monographs
