History of the Department
The Department of Medical Genetics and Fundamental Medicine of the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the Bashkir State Medical University was created in 2018 and is headed by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education Elza Kamilevna Khusnutdinova.
Lectures and workshops at the department are conducted using modern demonstration materials using multimedia presentations, video equipment. The department teaches the discipline "Medical Genetics" to 4-year students of the medical, paediatric, and medical-prophylactic faculty. Teaching is carried out according to the Federal State Educational Standards. The faculty of the Department includes 5 professors and 8 associate professors. Textbooks, electronic and control programs, video and audio films have been created, methodological recommendations for students, teachers, for the independent work of students, and tests have been prepared. The faculty of the department actively participates in international, national and republican conferences.
The Department of Medical Genetics and Fundamental Medicine provides training in the following specialties and disciplines:
31.05.01 General Medicine - “Medical Genetics”;
05.31.02 Pediatrics - “Medical Genetics”;
32.05.01 Medical and preventive care - “Medical genetics”.
31.08.30 Clinical residency in the specialty "Genetics".
The entire educational process at the department is provided with a full set of educational and methodological documentation. Teaching materials are available on the educational portal of BSMU.
Teaching materials include:
- methodological recommendations for lectures;
- guidelines for teachers;
- guidelines for students to practice;
- guidelines for independent classroom work;
- guidelines for independent extracurricular work;
- A set of test tasks in the discipline;
- rating system for assessing students’ knowledge (criteria for assessing students' knowledge and skills in the main discipline).
