BSMU students participated in the celebration of Student's Day in Sechenov University

The medical student meeting "Generation" took place from 23 till 25 January in the sanatorium of Sechenov University in Zvenigorod. That meeting was finished by a great celebration "Cakes at Pirogovskaya» on Student’s Day.

More than a hundred people came at the meeting. Among the participants, there were student organizations’ leaders and coordinators of medical universities from all around the country in various areas of youth policy: student government, volunteering, sport, culture, union movement. Alexander Vasiliev, Larisa Korneychuk, Faskhutdinov Timur and Valieva Alisa represented our university. A rich program was organized for participants such as round tables, master-classes, trainings on team building, leadership, and student media.

The key event of the meeting was the open discussion "Youth Policy of Medical Universities: from Theory to Practice". Director of Sechenov University Peter Glybochko opened the discussion. In his speech to the young activists, the Director paid attention to the issues of medical and educational development, spoke about the challenges that the higher education institutions face today. The Director of the Department of Public Health and Communications at the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia Oleg Salagay, Vice-rector for Public Relations and Educational Work at N. I. Pirogov RSRMU Georgiy Nadareishvili, Chairman of the Public Association "Doctors Volunteer" Pavel Savchuk also attended the discussion. Vice-rector for Public Relations and Educational Work at Sechenov University Ivan Chizh shared the experience of organizing student activities at the University. The head of the Department of Regional Cooperation of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) Kirill Litvitsky told about the all-Russian contest of youth projects.

During the meeting, participants were divided into 10 teams. Each team was asked to develop a plan for new cultural events. Vasiliev Alexander and his team took the second place and they were awarded with prizes.

January 25, the Student’s day, the great celebration "Cakes at Pirogovskaya” took place. For the students and participants of the meeting the hosts organized interactive platforms in various areas, donor event, the historical quest "Vivat, Professores", a concert program and the discussion forum "Dialogue on Equal Terms."

- Thanks to such forums where you can directly ask questions to representatives of the Ministry of Healthcare and other departments, legends of the medicine, and also communicate with students from other universities of our country. We get the basics of organizational activities, leadership, and we can bring the knowledge into the University – shared their impressions of the forum participants.
