Bashkir State Medical University was awarded the Gratitude of the Rectors’ Council of Bashkortostan for organizing anti-drug work in 2017

By the end of 2017 Bashkir State Medical University was awarded the gratitude of the Council of Rectors of higher education institutions of the Republic of Bashkortostan.  BSMU rector, Valentin N. Pavlov, as the representative of the University, was thanked for his significant contribution in organizing and conducting intercollegiate anti-drug events.

The brief report on anti-drug work, implemented in BSMU in 2017, is below.

In 2017 BSMU discussed topical issues on drug dependence prevention, uniting the efforts of young people and relevant agencies in this area.

Open discussion in the main building of the University was held in the form of a dialogue, live discussion, with the participation of BSMU leading speakers, specialists and experts in the field of addiction, healthcare, and prevention of drug addiction.

The speakers were the Head of the Drug Trafficking Control Department at the Interior Ministry of Russia in the Republic of Bashkortostan, police colonel Vladislav Gilevich Sitdikov and the rector of Bashkir State Medical University, Professor Valentin N. Pavlov.

The students of the universities of Bashkortostan asked questions about the possibilities of implementing joint projects with the Drug Trafficking Control Department at the Interior Ministry and BSMU, the peculiarities of the preventive work, the ethics, the effectiveness of preventive measures and legal aspects. Experts of BSMU and the Board of the Drug Trafficking Control Department at the Interior Ministry of Russia in Bashkortostan commented on the problems that were identified during the discussion and answered questions to students.

Participants of the meeting were students of leading universities of Bashkortostan: BSMU, M. Akmulla BSPU, BSU, BASSM, BSAU, Z. Ismagilov USIA, USPTU, and USATU. More than 50 people participated at the meeting.


In January BSMU students played the friendly volleyball match with the staff of the Drug Trafficking Control Department at the Interior Ministry of Russia in Bashkortostan.

Participants of the game were welcomed by the head of the Department on Educational and Social Work with Students Tagir Rafailovich Gizatullin and the Deputy Head of the Drug Trafficking Control Department at the Interior Ministry of Russia in Bashkortostan, police Colonel Adus Rinatovich Yagafarov.

More than 100 students of higher education institutions of Bashkortostan attended the game as fans.


In February 2017 they organized "Anti-Drug Month" meeting for the 1st year students. About 1250 participants took part in the meeting.


In May 2017 the University joined the national campaign "Stop HIV/AIDS".

Within the frames of the "Sports Contest between the University faculties" the University successfully hosted the Student Multi-adventure-program Tournament in the fitness center, BSMU hostel №1. The Contest was dedicated to the great all-Russian action "Stop HIV/AIDS" and it was aimed at promotion healthy lifestyle in youth environment.

 

 

In November 2017 College students of Bashkir State Medical University visited the class called "Say no to drugs! We choose life!".

The class was aimed at the formation of students' correct views on the drug problem, instilling them the right attitude to use of drugs, popularization of healthy lifestyle among the students.

At the class the hosts explained the concepts of "drug and drug addiction", talked about the stages of drug dependence, about the harm of drugs to health and their harmful effects on the body of young people, about the prevention of psychoactive substances usage.

In 2017 the students regularly were shown movies: "Caution: poison. Drug addiction" and "The Right to live”. These films depicted that drug addiction is both a disease and a crime, and talked about the legal aspects of the problem. About 1250 studentswatchedthefilmonthisproblem.


In December 2017, in order to intensify preventive activities and promote healthy lifestyle BSMU organized an anti-drug event. More than 350 students attended the event.


In December 2017, they launched and summed up the results of the Republican competition of anti-drug-oriented videos "Fight against the Abyss". The organizers of the competition "Fight against the Abyss" were the Council of Rectors of RB and Bashkir State Medical University.

The 1st place was awarded to USATU Center for Student Television;

The 2nd place was taken by Khalil Bishoy, student of the Faculty of Dentistry of BSMU;

The 3rd place was taken by the team of "Preodolenie" of M. Akmulla BSPU.
