In BSMU Leonid Roshal discussed healthcare issues

On 2 March in BSMU the President of the National Medical Chamber, Leonid Roshal, met with the Coordinating Council of the Volga Federal district. That meeting gathered representatives of all the territorial medical professional non-profit organizations that are members of the Chamber in the Volga Federal district and the heads of Coordination Councils of all Russian districts — members of the Union of the medical community National Medical Chamber, representatives of Volga Federal district public authorities in the field of healthcare.

- Today we, doctors, are living and working under a magnifying loupe, which has never happened before. If something occurs, our advanced people without understanding the reasons at once write complaints to higher instances, Prosecutor's office, Ministry of Healthcare, and mass media with great pleasure "inflates" it. I believe that there should be protection for the medical community from this great arbitrariness, and we are talking about it at all levels. For example, in Bashkortostan there are almost a million treatments in clinics, 800 thousand people are hospitalized, and what? Do we make all of them disabled, or provide the wrong help? We talk little about our achievements and stand up for our position. However, yesterday in President Vladimir Putin's Speech to the Federal Assembly a separate line was expressed gratitude to doctors, all healthcare workers for their selfless work, — said Leonid Roshal.

The President of the National Medical Chamber pointed out that in the President's Speech the medical community finally heard what they wanted to hear for a long time. It was an increase in the financing of healthcare to 5% of Gross National Product and the construction of first-aid stations (FAS), outpatient clinics in small towns. Leonid Roshal expressed his negative attitude to the Federal law project on the protection of healthcare workers from attacks. In his opinion, this law will not work, because the attacking is supposed to bear responsibility only if the condition of the patient worsens to average severity. And there should be a burden and for the harm caused to the medical worker. At the meeting, the participants also discussed personnel issues of the industry, the need for the distribution of graduates, accreditation of continuing medical education, healthcare problems in regions, positive practice exchange.

- Bashkir State Medical University actively cooperates with the National Medical Chamber in various aspects: representatives of BSMU are part of its Presidium and members of the National Medical Chamber, in its turn, the leadership of the National Chamber regularly speaks to the staff of our University. Our Simulation Center is one of the best in the country and during the accreditation of graduates, the chairmen of the examination commissions are traditionally appointed by the National Medical Chamber, making the invaluable contribution to the educational activities of our University, - said in his speech, the rector of Bashkir State Medical University, corresponding member of RAS, Valentin Pavlov.
