The Head of BSMU Central Research Laboratory, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Konstantin S. Mochalov, introduced the main directions and priorities in the work of the Laboratory to students of the Young doctor school. He told about the structure of the Laboratory. The Central Research Laboratory includes chromatographic laboratory, laboratory of cellular cultures, laboratory of experimental and clinical Biophysics, laboratory of immunology and radiological laboratory. The work of the laboratory of experimental and clinical Biophysics was discussed in more details. As he reported, one of the activities of this laboratory is to check the quality of biologically active substances.
In the second part of the lesson, students acquainted with the Psychiatry and Addictology Department with the course of Additional Professional Education Institution. The 6th year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics, who heads the scientific club, Ilya Efremov, told about the scientific work of the Department. In particular, he focused on the problem of smoking. He spoke about the student research work on this problem, which he has already successfully presented at the scientific-practical conference. The study touched upon the problem of personal qualities that affect the use of tobacco substances.
The participants with great interest treated the declared subject, asked many questions, got interested in student life and features of carrying out scientific researches.
