From 18 till 26 March, Cynthia Robinson, Doctor of Sciences, coordinator of academic programs, senior lecturer at the Rehabilitation Department of the Medical Faculty of Washington University, Seattle, holds a series of master classes at the Center of Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine and Botulinum Therapy in BSMU Clinic.
In March 2011 Washington University (USA) and BSMU signed a Memorandum of understanding on cultural, educational and scientific cooperation aimed at expanding international relations and interuniversity cooperation.
Cynthia Robinson has been working as a physical therapist for 32 years, promoting and sharing the approaches used by the American specialists in the Departments of Intensive Care, Neurology, Orthopedics, Burns and others. During the master classes, Cynthia Robinson and Prof. Akhmadeeva Leyla, conducted the following lectures: "Botulinum Therapy as a modern tool for doctors of different specialties. As the application of A botulinum toxin preparations can enhance physical rehabilitation", "Rehabilitative potential and quantitative assessment of patient's state dynamics in the process of rehabilitation in diseases of the nervous system, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems", "Biomechanics of walking and balance. Physical rehabilitation of patients after endoprosthesis replacement of large joints of the lower limbs", "Methods of proprioceptive profesionale", "Physical therapy in diseases of the urogenital sphere, accompanied by urinary incontinence" and others.
- This is my 13th visit to BSMU - said Cynthia, - every visit is productive due to the exchange of experience with Bashkir colleagues.
Since November 2017, Bashkortostan as one of seven regions of the Russian Federation has been implementing a pilot project to create a rehabilitation system for all three profiles, which are announced at the Federal level. This is cardiology, neurology and traumatology. Bashkortostan is one of the first regions to initiate participation in a pilot project to create the system of medical rehabilitation for patients with severe disabilities and disability. This project is implemented in several hospitals of Ufa, including the Rehabilitation Department of BSMU Clinic.
The following master classes with Cynthia Robinson participation are planned:
March 23: “The use of Nordic walking in the rehabilitation process for diseases of the joints and coronary artery disease”
March 24: “Cardiac rehabilitation: indications, "red flags", expectations, methodology”
March 26: “Rehabilitation approaches for women in the early postpartum period and after cesarean section”
