Union of BSMU students held the reporting and election conference

On 18 April the reporting and election conference of the Union of BSMU students and postgraduates was held in the Lecture hall of BSMU building №1.

Rector of Bashkir State Medical University, corresponding member of RAS Valentin N. Pavlov, opened the conference:

- BSMU today is one of the leading Universities in Russia in various areas. We take a worthy position in the international ranking of universities. In addition, for the successful functioning of such an organization we need the intravenous structures that combine and coordinate the overall work. The Union is necessary as a tool for the formation of a civil, self - regulatory society, and for many years the Union of our University copes with this task perfectly, participates in the organization of students’ leisure, conducts activities of various directions, - commented Valentin N. Pavlov.

The conference was also attended by Chairman of the Republican organization of the Union of Healthcare workers of the Russian Federation, Pavel Zyryanov, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, Alexander Tsyglin, Vice-rector for Educational and Social Work, Vladimir Ishmetov, Chairman of the Union of BSMU employees, Rustem Safarov.

Salavat Shamsutdinov, Chairman of the Union of BSMU students and postgraduates, made the report on the work of the Union for the period from November 2017 to March 2018. During this period, the number of Union members increased, more than 30 events were organized and held with the support of the Union. They organized a new structure of the Union Committee with departments regulating the work of various areas of student life, so that the public work of the University included a large number of students of all courses and faculties at BSMU.

During the conference the following issues were resolved:

- Renaming of the Union of BSMU students and postgraduates into the Union of BSMU students according to the Federal law №232 "On education".

- Choice of the Vice-Chairman of the Union Committee. The second-year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics, Albert Shakirov, was unanimously elected.

- Election of members of the Union Committee.

- Reduction of Union dues of commercial students.

- The decision to join the Medical College Union to BSMU Union.
