BSMU delegation met with the dean of the Medical Faculty of Dresden Technology University, Heinz Reichmann

On 3 May, the rector of Bashkir State Medical University, corresponding member of RAS, Valentina N. Pavlov, met with the Dean of the Medical Faculty of Dresden Technology University, head of the Neurology department, Professor Heinz Reichmann, in the University Clinic. During the official meeting, Valentin N. Pavlov made the presentation about BSMU, opportunities for cooperation in various areas of medicine and joint participation in grant projects. Scientific researches of the Medical Faculty of Dresden Technology University are concentrated mainly on the following areas: oncology, neurology, diabetology.

- The meeting was rich and fruitful. We have reached the agreement on the establishment of scientific groups on oncology, neurology and diabetology. Professor Reichmann supported the initiative of the Neurology Congress in Ufa, - commented Valentin N. Pavlov.

The meeting was held during the official visit of BSMU representatives in Dresden Technology University. On 2-7 May, the delegation of Bashkir State Medical University, which was represented by the rector, corresponding member of RAS, Valentin N. Pavlov, head of Project Management department, Adel Izmailov, Vice-rector for Administrative and Economic Affairs, Marat Taipov, head of International Relations and Public Affairs department, Naufal Zagidullina, and specialist, Galiya Nasertdinova, visited Carl Gustav Carus Medical Faculty at Dresden Technical University.

Cooperation with Dresden Technical University has been lasting for more than 20 years. Our students are regularly trained at the Medical faculty, and students of Dresden Technical University are trained at BSMU in turn. In 2016, Carl Gustav Carus Medical faculty of Dresden Technical University and BSMU signed the Memorandum of understanding. The so-called "guide" between the universities is the head of the Urology department at Carl Gustav Carus University hospital of Dresden Technical University, Professor Manfred Wirth, whose participation initiated joint Universities’ research. Professor Wirth visited the Congress of Urologists in Ufa in 2016. Moreover, under his leadership, urologist of BSMU Clinic, Adel Izmailov, was trained during a month.
