On the evening of 31 May the father of Rustam Kutlugildin, a 6th-year student of the Faculty of General Medicine at Bashkir State Medical University complained to the son of pain behind a breast. However, the pain subsided and the family went to bed. Early in the morning, symptoms intensified – chest pain, a feeling of heat in the heart and pain in the left hand: learned from junior courses symptoms, as a visual picture of myocardial infarction, stood in front of Ruslan and he immediately sought help from doctors. Cardio team, aware of the diagnosis, came to the Kutlugildins in the shortest time and provided all necessary assistance. The son accompanied the father to the emergency room in BSMU Clinic and at this moment the father's pulse was no longer palpable – cardiac arrest? Fibrillation? Rustam applied all the knowledge gained at the University: cardiopulmonary resuscitation, learned to automatism in the Simulation Center of the University Clinic, saved his father's life.
- Rustam did everything correctly. He took the necessary actions, which managed to save the life. He turned to the help the doctors when the attacks did not take more than 15 minutes. The therapeutic window was not overcome – from the beginning of the attack to the patient's admission to the operating room, which allowed starting treatment in time. On time and competently it was carried out warmly-pulmonary reanimation, - Alfiya Pushkaryova, assistant Professor of the Hospital Therapy department, physician-cardiologist in the Cardiovascular and X-ray Surgery department of BSMU Clinics, commented on the actions of the student.
Valuable minutes, carved by Rustam, allowed the doctors of the Clinic to conduct a timely stenting operation – restoration of the patency of the heart vessels in the intensive care unit.
- Now my father feels much better and even jokes that he does not remember where on the chest there are traces of a defibrillator. In addition, I am grateful to the native Alma-mater that thanks to the knowledge and work as a medical brother in the intensive care unit of the emergency hospital, I was able to help my father and save his life. I am actively engaged in scientific activities at the University, I am the head of the scientific club at the Otolaryngology department, but this case changed my views, having watched the work of Clinic doctors, I wanted to become a doctor of x - ray endovascular surgery, - Rustam shared.
