Assistant of the Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases department of BSMU became a winner in the competition between young scientists at the Russian National Congress of Cardiologists

From 25 till 28 September, the Russian National Congress of Cardiologists was held in Moscow. As part of the Congress, Irina Mustafina from the Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases department of BSMU, took part in the competition of young scientists and took the 3rd place having presented the scientific work "Optical coherence tomography and biomarker pentraxin-3 in the diagnosis of myocardial infarction with ST segment elevation".

The work was fulfiled during the joint graduate school of BSMU and Harbin Medical University. Irina Mustafina got the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences (PhD) in China.

Scientific supervisors are Professor Naufal Sh. Zagidullin from the Russian side and Professor Yu Bo, head of the Cardiology Department at the 2nd Clinical Hospital of Harbin Medical University, from the Chinese side.

- The research cincerns various morphological variants of myocardial infarction by optical tomography to improve diagnosis and differentiated approach to their treatment. The special value of the work is that the study of this topic used the latest scientific developments and knowledge of both Russia and China, - commented Irina Mustafina.
