Freshers' Fiest

On 18 October  in the 10th building of the Bashkir State Medical University took place a solemn evening of greetings of the first-year students “Fresher’s Fiesta”, organized by the dean's office for work with foreign students in cooperation with the BSMU Press Team. All the first-year students from among foreign citizens took part in the evening.
The event was thematically divided into three parts. The first - and most important - was the speech of the university administration with a speech designed to inspire students to actively participate in the life of the university, to a responsible approach of learning and to a positive dynamic in the learning process and during the exams. In addition, Abdullina Zulfiya Faritovna, head of the department for work with foreign students in the maintenance department of the scientific library visited the evening. She conducted an online tour of the library, familiarizing them with the library's capabilities, paying particular attention to the library’s online resources.
The next part of “Fresher’s Fiesta” was that students of different courses and areas of training shared their knowledge and experience with students beginning their path, gave them advices, the most frequent of which was advice to learn Russian.
The most exciting part for the students was the final part of the evening, in which the students themselves participated. The outcome of the event was the election of Mr. and Miss Fresher, by voting on the results of two competitions: intellectual and dance.
The winners of this competition were Miss Manisha and Mister Rakesh Swami.
A special event was the release of a brochure for first-year students, in which there is not only a description of each department, but also a QR code by which you can find information on the Internet. In addition to data about the university, the rules of residence in hostels and behavior at the university, the authors presented information on catering establishments located not far from the university, routes that can be reached from the hostel to the university where you can buy food and clothing. All this is important, because many freshmen are still not oriented in the city.
