The first microperimetry nephrolithotomy was held in the Republic of Bashkortostan at BSMU Clinic

On 25 October 2018 BSMU Clinic hosted the master class "New technologies in the treatment of urolithiasis: microperimetry nephrolithotomy". The Bashkir State Medical University organized the master class.

Within the framework of the event, for the first time in the Republic of Bashkortostan, two operations were carried out – microcutaneous nephrolithotripsy. The operations were performed by Andrey Andronov, Ph. D., assistant of the Urology department of “Institute of advanced training of Russian FMBA", the Urology and Andrology department of State Research Center Burnazyan Federal Medical Biophysical Center of Federal Medical Biological Agency, Moscow.

A distinctive feature of this operation is the fact that the stone is removed through a puncture in the lumbar region with a maximum diameter of up to 3.5 millimeters. The advantages of this technology are the absence of cosmetic defects, a short period of hospitalization, rapid recovery of working capacity for patients.
