Selina Le May-Klippel, professor of Medical Affairs at New York University, continues giving lectures and practical classes to students of BSMU Medical College. At the practical class, the students of Nursing specialty were presented the topic "Examination of the patient".
Students studied the method of palpation as one of the most popular clinical methods used in domestic and foreign medicine. The types and methods of examination, as well as the conditions and rules of inspection were considered.
Summing up the results of the practical training, all students came to the common opinion that the examination of the patient is an important stage of the medical and diagnostic process, as on the basis of the survey data, the diagnosis and treatment is prescribed. Equally, the success of the treatment and, ultimately, the patient's life depends on the professional level of the doctor, the nurses, the patient's awareness, the degree of trust and agreement between them and the decisions consciously made by the patient.
