Final lecture of Professor Selina LeMay-Klippel at BSMU Medical College

On 27 November Professor Selina LeMay-Klippel gave a final lecture to the students of the Nursing specialty on "Cardiopulmonary resuscitation" topic.

At the lecture, future nurses watched a training film and demonstrated their skills on the simulator for cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Statistics show that more than 20% of lives could be saved if the person, who was at the scene, would have owned first aid and CPR. Abroad, there are currently 50 million people trained in CPR. How many people are trained these techniques in Russia? We do not have such data, but no more 10-20 thousand people.

At the end of the lecture, the students made very important conclusions that many lives could be saved if the first person who came to the rescue, owned CPR techniques. Basic life support means not only supporting the signs of life, but also winning time before the ambulance arrives.

Administration, faculty and students of the Medical College thank Professor Selina LeMay-Klippel for lectures and practical classes. Our staff and students of the College had a great opportunity to significantly improve their English language skills to communicate with foreign partners. We want to note the excellent organization of all work on the preparation and conduct of this event. We hope for further fruitful cooperation.
