The Robotic Center at BSMU Clinic is the only innovative center of robot-assisted surgery in the Volga Federal district. It has overcome a new milestone: on 27 November 2018 the two-hundredth operation was held. The first anniversary of the hundredth robotic operation was in July 2018.
- We conducted two hundred robotic operations within nine months. This is one of the best indicators of effective use of Da Vinci system in Russia. Moreover, a distinctive feature of the Robotic Center at BSMU Clinic is that the operations are held at the expense of the Obligatory Medical Insurance funds for residents of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the neighboring regions in all areas of surgery. We conduct robot-assisted surgery in the field of Oncology, Urology, Thoracic, Abdominal, Cardiovascular Surgery and Gynecology, - said Professor Ruslan Safiullin, the head of the Robotic Center at BSMU Clinic.
The opening of the Center took place on 23 February 2018. In addition to current operations, during this period, leading world experts conducted master classes with Da Vinci robot. Among them were Jens-Uwe Stoltsenburg, head of the International Training Center for Laparoscopy and Robot-assisted Surgery at Leipzig University, Prof. Hu Jiankun, Vice-Director of the Gastrointestinal Surgery department, director of the Gastric Cancer Institute at the West China hospital of Sichuan University, Dmitriy Pushkar, chief urologist of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia, Peter Yablonsky, chief thoracic surgeon of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia, Mikhail Partial, head of robotic surgery center of V. A. Almazov National Medical Research Center (Saint-Petersburg), Eduard Gallyamov, head of the General Surgery department at Sechenov University, Evgeny Bezrukov, head of the Urology department at R. M. Fronstein Clinic of Sechenov University and others.
- Specialists of BSMU Clinic, conducting operations on the robot Da Vinci, are specially trained and have diplomas of international standard. Valentin Pavlov, Rector of the Bashkir State Medical University, corresponding member of RAS, Professor Ruslan Safiullin, Marat Urmantsev, head of the Oncology department received the international certificates in robotic surgery in Strasburg (France) at the training center for minimally invasive surgery IRCAD, I was trained in Belgium. Having obtained the certificates, we entered the international register of robotic surgeons, each operation is registered in the international data register that expands borders, opportunities and level of work of robotic surgeons of our Clinic, - noted Professor Arthur Afzaletdinov, the head of the Thoracic Surgery department.
