BSMU held the competition of the English presentations on “Bashkortostan is my native land”

On 15 December 2018, the Department of Foreign Languages with the Latin language course hosted the presentation contest dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Bashkortostan. First-year students of BSMU told about the history, geography, culture and nature of Bashkortostan. All the presentations were made in English. Several works were devoted to such small homeland of students as Ilsheevsky, Salavatsky, Karaidelsky districts. The participants also talked on the professional theme. There were presentations about healthcare of the Republic of Bashkortostan, about the healing properties of honey and kumis (koumiss). Some performances were accompanied by music and video, poetic works in English about the native land. Especially memorable are the performances in national costumes.

The jury evaluated the presentation by such criteria as the correct pronunciation of sounds, and competent transmission of the content of the presentation, expression, and performance skills. Many students earned high scores; it was difficult for the jury to choose the best of the best. As a result, the winners of the competition were three: Murzakhanova Karina and Habibov Marsel (group 110B of the faculty of General Medicine) with a story about the picturesque Karaidel district, as well as Yakupova Kamila (group 101B of the faculty of Dentistry) with the presentation "Bashkir honey as the great gift of nature".

Several students took the second place. Yana Karimova and Buglo Ekatherina (group 105A of the faculty of Pharmacology) shared amazing facts about the country, and Nizamutdinova Rosalina and Anna Mukhitova (group 102B of the faculty of Pediatrics) earnestly told about their homeland. Biktimirova Diana (group 101B of the faculty of Dentistry), Sarvalieva Alina and Albina Gazizova (group 110A of the faculty of General Medicine) shared the third place. Diana presented the tourist guide of Bashkortostan. Alina and Albina came to the competition in colorful national costumes and introduced the audience to the poem "My Ural" by Salavat Yulaev, translated into English. All students demonstrated good knowledge of English and the ability to represent the material expressively.

Winners of the competition were awarded with diplomas and valuable prizes. All the participants received the gifts, as well as a good mood.
