BSMU rector, Valentin Pavlov, made a report at the 34th Annual EAU Congress 2019 European Association of Urology in Barcelona (Spain)

From 15 to 19 March the 34th Annual European Association of Urology Congress 2019 takes place in Barcelona (Spain). The Congress gathered more than 15 thousand specialists in the field of urology from around the world. The Congress was attended by the delegation from the Bashkir State Medical University composed of Valentin Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS, Professor Adel Izmailov, Professor Ruslan Safiullin, associate Professor Marat Urmantsev.

For the first time in the framework of this Congress, a joint session of the Russian society of urologists with the European Association of urologists is held.  Valentin Pavlov headed the Presidium of the section on urolithiasis and made the report "Urolithiasis: a look at the aspects of metaphylaxis". In the report, Valentin Pavlov presented the results of the study of the role of infection in stone formation and the results of the use in urological practice of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the most modern biochemical markers of kidney damage in surgical interventions for urolithiasis.

Every year the Congress becomes the largest scientific meeting of the European Association of urology, attracting urologists from all over the world to major European cities. This year EAU19 offers participants a five-day, cutting-edge scientific programme with opportunities for training, networking and visiting the expansive exhibition, where companies will present their latest technological and pharmaceutical breakthroughs.
