All-Russian Students Olympiad “Biochemist”

According to the order of the Ministry of Education of Russia on 17-18 May 2019 the Biological Chemistry department of BSMU held all-Russian Students Olympiad “Biochemist”.

The Students Olympiad “Biochemist” is officially included in the List of Olympiads and other intellectual and (or) creative competitions for the 2018/19 academic year.

Thirty-five students from 11 universities of Russia participated in the Olympiad.

At the opening of the Olympiad A. A. Tsyglin, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of the Bashkir State Medical University, Professor Sh. N. Galimov, MD, head of the Biological Chemistry department of BSMU, greeted the participants. They noted the peculiar importance of the Olympiad and wished good luck to the participants.

The Olympiad was held in three competitions. In the contest "Biochemist" students answered theoretical questions, the second contest – the best essay, the third one – situational problem.

After the first competition, participants of the Olympiad with a guide got acquainted with the sights of Ufa. Then the Biological Chemistry department held the conference where students made the best essays and the presentation of the contest "Scientific achievements".

The organizing Committee and jury included professors and associate professors of Bashkir State Medical University, Bashkir State University, Ural State Medical University, Perm State Medical University, and Ryazan State Medical University.

The main goal of the Olympiad is to promote knowledge in the field of Biological Chemistry, improve the quality of education of students, develop their creative potential, increase motivation for in-depth study of Biochemistry, exchange of experience and knowledge between students.

Results of the Olympiad:

In the team championship at the end of all competitions the first place was taken by the team of Ryazan State Medical University, the second place – the team of Volga Research Medical University; the third place – the team of Bashkir State Medical University.

In personal superiority:

First place – Sabirova A. R., Bashkir State Medical University;

Second place – Mikhailov V. S., Ryazan State Medical University, Kryukov E. R., Volga Research Medical University;

Third place – Zavyalova O. A., Ryazan State Medical University, Mikhailova N., Orenburg State Medical University.

According to the results of the creative team contest "Academic achievement" the first place went to the team of Ivanovo State Medical Academy, the second place – team of the Bashkir State University; the third place – the team of the Volga Research Medical University.
