BSMU and Academic Park of Qingdao (China) signed the Memorandum of Cooperation

From 28 till 30 May BSMU delegation took part in the III International Forum of Academicians in the Academic Park of Qingdao (China). Valentin Pavlov, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS, and Naufal Zagidullin, head of the International Relations department, presented the delegation of the Bashkir State Medical University. The Academic Park is a research and production cluster of nine components, created to attract the world leading scientific specialists (academicians) for research and a total investment of 1 trillion rubles.

More than 100 leading scientists from 20 countries attended the Forum. Three corresponding members and academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences represented the Russian Federation. Tours of the cluster, which is largely under construction, were organized for the participants and they were shown examples of functioning laboratories in the field of bioengineering, biotechnology, and creation of modern materials.

The Board of the Park met with BSMU delegation. At the meeting they showed interest in creating such a kind of laboratory, with the involvement of BSMU intellectual forces. Funding is planned to be allocated from the grants of the Park. The Memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Academic Park, which opens up such opportunities.

On 30 May, Valentin Pavlov at the conference of the section of Biomedical Sciences made the scientific report on the cooperation of BSMU with universities of China (scientific, educational, medical programs) and advanced research in Urology conducted in our University. On the sidelines, meetings were held with many scientists participating in the Forum and, in particular, with Nobel Laureate, Creator of liquid crystal screens (blue emission) Shuji Nakamura.
