WHO representatives held the study case on Early detection of alcohol abusers in primary healthcare settings

On 9 November, the study case on Early detection of people who abuse alcohol in primary healthcare institutions was held.  Maria Neufeld and Anna Bunova, representatives of the Europian regional office of the World Health Organization, conducted the training on screening and short-term interventions for harmful alcohol consumption. The screening is an interview of the patient. A short survey helps to understand how often and in what quantities a person drinks alcohol. This technique was developed by the World Health Organization and now is being adapted for Russian and Bashkir Medical Institutions. Young scientists, having trained in this technique, will participate in joint research on the basis of clinics of the Republic of Bashkortostan during a month.
