The Neurology department IAPE of BSMU took part in the IV all-Russian Scientific Conference of Young Scientists with International Participation “The Future of Neurology”

From February 10 to 13, 2020, Kazan hosted the IV all-Russian Scientific Conference of Young Scientists with International Participation within the framework of the traditional Neuroforum Week of Neurology in Kazan-2020. Leading neurologists of the Russian Federation and the CIS participated in it. The whole range of scientific and practical events was held under Neuroform auspices.

Professor, MD Eduard Yakupov, the Chairman of the organizing Committee of the Conference, head of the Neurology, Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics department of Kazan State Medical University, opened the Conference.  The Chairman addressed the participants and guests of the conference with welcoming speech. Fazlyakhmetova Gulnaz, a second-year resident of the Neurology department of IAPE, with the report Moya-Moya Disease. Case of Hemorrhagic Stroke, and Peshkin A. N., a graduate of the Neurology department of IAPE 2017, now a neurologist of the State Medical center #13 of Ufa, with the report Clinical Case of Echinococcosis of the Brain, took part in the work of the Neuroforum. Both speakers and their reports were awarded with diplomas. The reports were prepared under the guidance of Professor Novikova L. B., head of the Neurology department, and Akopyan A. P., associate Professor of the Neurology department. The topic of Fazlyakhmetova Gulnaz’ report concerned a rare cerebrovascular disease in young people complicated by stroke. The work of the resident of the department Fazlyakhmetova Gulnaz aroused great interest, an active discussion unfolded, the speaker was asked a large number of questions, to which an exhaustive answer was given. Echinococcosis of the brain is currently a rare pathology that requires neurosurgical intervention. The questions of the clinic, diagnostics and neurosurgical tactics for this disease were covered in a specific clinical example of the report of A. N. Peshkin.
