The pilot training cycle for doctors on working with test systems for detecting coronavirus has been launched at BSMU Clinic

On March 19, 2020, BSMU Clinic has launched the pilot educational course Training of doctors in clinical and laboratory diagnostics with test systems for detecting coronavirus. The theoretical part of the training is assigned to the faculty of Bashkir state medical University, the practical part - to the specialists of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Bashkortostan.

The training was attended by doctors of clinical and laboratory diagnostics of the BSMU Clinic, G. G. Kuvatov Republican Clinical Hospital, Republican Center for fighting AIDS and infectious diseases, City  Clinical Hospital №21, BSMP, RCVD 1, Neftekamsk City hospital.

- We plan at least five laboratories of Republican medical institutions will be prepared for the diagnosis of coronavirus infection. Today we start training specialists to work with new test systems to increase the coverage of the population with diagnostics of coronavirus infection, - commented Maxim Zabelin, the Minister of healthcare of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

Diagnostics is performed by real-time polymerase chain reaction (real-time PCR) in healthy individuals who have returned from foreign countries, patients with community-acquired pneumonia without an epidemiological history.

During his visit to the BSMU Clinic Maxim Zabelin, the Minister of healthcare of the Republic of Bashkortostan, got acquainted with the readiness of the institution to diagnose coronavirus infection and, if there is the necessity, to receive patients with coronavirus infection.

- The intensive care unit has boxed wards, which are equipped with the necessary devices for long - term artificial ventilation and intensive care monitoring of patients, - explained Valentin Pavlov, rector of BSMU. – If necessary, we are ready to accept infected patients.
