Extended meeting of the Operational Headquarters for preventing the spread of new COVID-19 coronavirus infection cases in Bashkir State Medical University

On March 19, 2020, Bashkir State Medical University held the expanded meeting of the Operational Headquarters for preventing the spread of new COVID-19 coronavirus infection cases in Bashkir State Medical University. Professor Valentin Pavlov, Chairman of the Operational Headquarters, rector of BSMU, corresponding member of RAS, MD, Ruslan Khabibov, Minister of youth policy and sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Valiullin Dinar, head of the Department of state civil service and personnel of the Ministry of healthcare of the Republic of Bashkortostan, members of the Operational Headquarters of BSMU, student activity of senior courses and residents of BSMU attended the meeting.

The agenda of the meeting was to discuss and create operational groups of medical volunteers who would be sent to provide medical and social assistance to the population in high-alert conditions due to the threat of spreading a new coronavirus infection.

Invited guests made presentations and reports on the coronavirus infection situation in the Republic of Bashkortostan and on the necessary assistance from BSMU volunteers. Professor Valishin Damir, Dean of the Faculty of General Medicine, head of the Infectious Diseases department, MD, made the report on the clinical manifestations and prevention of a new coronavirus infection caused by nCoV-2019.

The meeting resulted at the creation of operational groups of medical volunteers in four areas: Hotline, Incident, Social assistance, Medical assistance.
