BSMU medical volunteers assist elderly and disabled citizens as measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection are enhanced

Since March 21, 2020, the headquarters Medical Volunteers for Elderly and Disabled Citizens for the prevention of the spread of coronavirus infection, which employs students of 5-6 courses of Bashkir State Medical University, has been functioning at the educational building №3. At the headquarters there is the Call Center. A special hotline accepts applications from single senior citizens and disabled people who are in self-isolation, for the delivery of food, medicine and essential items.

It should be mentioned, that anyone who calls +7 (347) 268-28-88 can get reliable information from volunteers on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 coronavirus infection.

On March 23, a group of BSMU medical volunteers and representatives of the regional headquarters of the All-Russian Public Front visited BSMU veterans Venera Mukhibovna Fakhrislamova and Sazhida Samigullovna Muslyumova. Each of them has more than 50 years of experience in Medicine. Medical volunteers and representatives of the All-Russian Public Front helped veterans with the delivery of necessary products to their homes.

- All BSMU students are included in the healthcare system of our Republic. In connection with the situation, actively help at the practical medicine of the region. They are residents in the group of the provision of primary care physicians, senior students on the hot line, the Incident Management system of Ministry of healthcare of Russia and groups Volunteers-Doctors to Elderly and Disabled Citizens have a social and information assistance to residents, - said Valentin Pavlov, rector BSMU, corresponding member of RAS.
